Barcelona are closing in on a deal to sign Chelsea target Luka Jovic, according to a report from Frankfurter Allgemeine.

The striker has been in impressive form for Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt this season and has caught the eye of several teams with some clinical performances.

Chelsea, according to the report, have tracked the Serbian attacker this term, while German giants Bayern Munich have also kept a close eye on his progress.

Jovic joined Frankfurt on a two-year loan deal from Portuguese club SL Benfica in the summer of 2017 but appears to be set for an immediate move away when his temporary spell in Germany ends.

Frankfurter Allgemeine claims that Barcelona are edging closer to tying up the transfer as they look to provide starting striker Luis Suarez with sufficient cover.

The 21-year-old has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga this season and has scored 14 goals, chipping in with a further four assists as well.
