Kante pulls back curtain on Chelsea dressing room after City drubbing

N’Golo Kante has given a glimpse of the mood inside the Chelsea dressing room after the stunning 6-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues had been backed by some to get a result at the Etihad, especially after handing Pep Guardiola’s men a 2-0 defeat back in December.

However, a series of schizophrenic performances took another interesting turn with a seriously heavy defeat.

Never in the game, Maurizio Sarri’s side found themselves 4-0 down after just 25 minutes, following strikes from Raheem Sterling, Ilkay Gundogan, and a brace from Sergio Aguero.

The Argentine would wrap up his hat-trick with a second-half penalty, and Sterling finished the rout by adding the sixth ten minutes from time.

A frosty scene would have welcomed a by-stander in the Chelsea dressing room, and midfielder Kante corroborated such suspicions.

Quoted by Football London, the Frenchman said:

We all have disappointment etched across our faces. But we’ve got a lot to learn from this, and hopefully we will not repeat the same mistakes in the future.

They outclassed us from the first minute to the last minute, and they made the difference in the first minutes of the first half. It was very difficult to come back from that.

It’s a great disappointment and we have to react. It’s difficult to accept such a heavy defeat, but we have a lot of matches coming up to lift our heads and give us hope for good results at the end of this season.
