Emerson focused on ‘important’ upcoming games
Emerson Palmieri is focused on helping Chelsea turn their fortunes around in the upcoming fixtures.
The Italian international started in the team’s 2-1 win away at Malmo in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 matchups on Thursday night. Goals from Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud handed the visitors a vital win.
Speaking after the match, as quoted by Goal, the ex-Roma star discussed the challenges that await his side and insisted that the Blues have to take the games as they come. Emerson said:
We have a lot of important games during this month still, so we need to focus on responding in the best possible way to each game.
I’m sure we’re going in the right direction, and even though we have a final to play, we need to think game by game.
Chelsea face a testing home game against Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday evening.
On the following Sunday, they will take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium. This comes just weeks after their 6-0 defeat to the reigning Premier League champions at the Etihad Stadium.
Emerson will hope to feature and help Chelsea return to form in the coming weeks.
