Rabiot reportedly snubs Chelsea for Barcelona
Chelsea target Adrien Rabiot looks set to join La Liga giants Barcelona when his contract expires this summer, despite being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in January.
According to the Mirror, via La Parisien, Rabiot has settled the speculation around his future by agreeing a verbal deal with the Catalan side, ending rumours of a move to the Premier League.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool had all been linked with a move for the midfielder throughout the January window after the Frenchman refused to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Rabiot has not featured for PSG since mid December following the fallout surrounding his contract, with his last appearance coming against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.
According to the report, the 23-year-old will be signing a deal worth around £170,000 a week at Barca, who will also pay him a £9million signing fee.
The midfielder moved to PSG in 2010 and has since made over 220 appearances for the French giants after moving up from the academy.
Chelsea’s frustrating search for a replacement for Cesc Fabregas looks set to continue following the Frenchman’s decision, with moves for Rabiot, Leandro Parades and Nicolo Barella all failing to materialise following Fabregas’ departure to Monaco.
