Brendan Rodgers emerges as potential Sarri replacement

Brendan Rodgers has emerged as a shock replacement candidate for Maurizio Sarri, according to the Mirror.

Sarri has come under lots of pressure recently, with Chelsea struggling.

The Blues were dumped out of the FA Cup on Monday, with Manchester United winning 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea also slipped out of the top four recently.

Chelsea will be hoping to bounce back against Malmo on Thursday in the Europa League, but questions are still being asked about Sarri’s future.

If Sarri is to go, Brendan Rodgers has emerged as a shock candidate to take the role.

The Celtic boss has had his odds slashed overnight to 10/1 according to the Mirror, and the Northern Irishman could be in line to take over at the Blues.

Rodgers was previously on the coaching staff at the Blues before making the move to Swansea City.

He would then move on to Liverpool, where the Reds almost secured the Premier League title under his management.

However, Rodgers would be sacked before then moving to Celtic, where he has enjoyed a successful spell.
