Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes that the London club still have a high chance of winning trophies this season, as reported on Talksport.
The Blues will battle with Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on Sunday in the Carabao Cup final for the first piece of major silverware this season.
Maurizio Sarri’s side has also advanced into the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League, and Fabregas believes the Blues have a great chance of winning both trophies this term.
He said:
Listen, these things happen. It’s a shame really because it’s difficult to experience 4-0 defeats, 6-0 defeats.
This is a good team, though, and I believe in them. I’m sure they can still win titles this year. 100 per cent I believe that, so they just need to put things together because now is the right time to do it.
Nothing is lost. They can still fight for many things and we have to make sure that we don’t regret it at the end.
Maurizio Sarri is under pressure and a heavy defeat in the Carabao Cup final may see him lose his job, so that is extra motivation for the Blues to get revenge on City on Sunday.
