Rudiger says everything will be fine after Kepa incident

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has played down the incident involving goalkeeper Kepa and manager Maurizio Sarri in the League Cup final on Sunday.

Rudiger says that the pair will resolve the issue and that everything will be fine, going forwards.

The incident occurred towards the end of extra-time, with Kepa going down with, what appeared to be, cramp, and Sarri decided to bring on substitute goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

However, Kepa refused to leave the pitch, despite Caballero being ready to come on and Sarri insistent on the change taking place.

In the end, Kepa won the duel and stayed on the pitch. The Spanish goalkeeper saved one of Manchester City’s five penalties, as Chelsea lost in the shootout.

As quoted by The Mirror, Rudiger said this:

This is something the coach and the player have to speak about,

I cannot say much about it. I think, for sure, the coach and the goalkeeper will speak about it and everything will be fine.
