Chelsea could face an uphill battle to try and convince the Football Association to let them bring in Steve Holland on a temporary basis if they sack Maurizio Sarri.
The London Evening Standard reports that Holland would be the club’s number one candidate to replace Sarri if the Italian is dismissed before the end of the season.
Holland left Chelsea at the end of the club’s title-winning season under Antonio Conte.

Having previously worked as a number two at Chelsea, he is a well-respected figure among both the players and those behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.
Unfortunately for Chelsea, the timing is far from perfect, with England due to kick off their European Championship qualifying campaign towards the end of March.
The Blues will be hoping for a favour in return after previously allowing Holland to share his time between the England national squad and Chelsea before he left permanently.
