John Terry wants the Chelsea manager’s job

John Terry would “jump at the chance” of becoming the new Chelsea manager if the opportunity ever arose, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Terry is now the assistant manager of Aston Villa but it is not his dream job. The job he would love to take is the manager of Chelsea Football Club.

There is a chance that the job could open up for Terry soon, following uncertainty over the future of Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge. It is obvious that is why Terry is voicing his desire to take the job, so that Chelsea are aware of the interest.

The ex-defender has always had a great connection with Chelsea and it would not come as a surprise to hear that he would love the job of becoming their manager.

Terry actually still travels to Chelsea’s training ground and meets up with his former team-mates whenever he gets the opportunity.

If he was to become the man in charge of Chelsea, he would be following his former England teammates Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard into management. So far, that duo have been successful in their first job as managers and they will continue to improve with the experience.

For now, though, Terry is still Aston Villa’s assistant and it’s all just speculation so far. Villa have a very tough challenge ahead, as they are struggling to find their form in the Championship. They are currently sitting 13th in the league – when they were tipped to at least make the playoffs at the beginning of the season.
