Zappacosta not in Sarri’s plans

Davide Zappacosta does not feature in Maurizio Sarri’s plans at Chelsea, according to a report from Calciomercato.

The wing-back has found himself behind Cesar Azpilicueta in the pecking this season, prompting speculation surrounding his future at Stamford Bridge.

In the January transfer window, Chelsea allowed Victor Moses to leave and join Fenerbahce, indicating that Zappacosta could yet play a part for the Blues.

Although he has been utilised in cup competitions, specifically the Europa League, the former Torino defender does not appear to have a future in London.

Zappacosta played for Chelsea in their most recent outing as he helped them to a 3-0 home win against Dynamo Kyiv in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 fixture.

Sarri has made use of the Italian international but could be looking elsewhere for a new right-back if Calciomercato’s report is to be believed.

His contract with the Blues comes to an end in 2021.
