Zidane targets Kante as his first signing

N’Golo Kante is Zinedine Zidane’s number one transfer target this summer after the Frenchman was re-appointed as Real Madrid manager.

Zidane stepped down from his role as Los Blancos boss just 10 months ago after guiding the club to three successive Champions League trophies, but returns to replace Santiago Solari who spent less than five months in charge.

And after signing a deal confirming his re-appointment at Real, Zidane has reportedly identified Chelsea midfielder Kante as his first transfer target as he looks to rebuild his squad, according to La Gazetta dello Sport reporter Nicolò Schira.

Kante has been one of Chelsea’s standout players since joining from Leicester for a fee of £32million in 2017, after being a key player during the Foxes’ title winning campaign.

The midfielder has since won the Premier League with the Blues and the World Cup with France, on his way to becoming one of the best midfielders in world football.

Kante may not be the only Chelsea player on his way to Madrid, with another key figure in Eden Hazard also strenuously linked with a move to the Spanish capital.
