Lampard: Loftus-Cheek should be playing more for Chelsea
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has revealed that he feels Ruben Loftus-Cheek should be playing more for the Blues, as reported on Talksport.
The current Derby County manager is a big fan of Loftus-Cheek and feels that he has all the qualities to become a top class midfielder for the Blues.
Loftus-Cheek has found it difficult to find regular playing time under Maurizio Sarri so far this season, with the manager preferring a midfield three of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic.
The 23-year-old has also found himself behind Ross Barkley, who has put in some impressive performances this season.
When speaking about Loftus-Cheek, Lampard said:
I think Ruben has absolutely everything and to be fair he’s had a few injury problems this season.
He is another one who has to make the most of every minute he gets. He’s at a stage now where he should be playing and should be pushing regularly to get in that team.
They are the next generation. Chelsea have invested heavily in the academy and I’m sure they are going to want to see the fruits of that.
He has played 27 times in all competitions for the Blues this season, with many of those appearances coming from the bench.
