Milan boss Gattuso pushing to land Bakayoko

AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso is desperate to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea on a permanent deal, according to a report from Calciomercato

The Frenchman signed for the Italian giants on a season-long loan deal during the summer transfer window after he failed to make his mark during his first season in English football.

Bakayoko struggled to find form in Antonio Conte’s team and was sent away temporarily by Maurizio Sarri, who added Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic to his midfield options upon his arrival.

Gattuso has used the former AS Monaco star regularly this season and has evidently been impressed by his exploits in Serie A.

Calciomercato reports that the Milan boss is ‘pushing hard’ to ensure that the club take up their option to complete the permanent signing of Bakayoko when his loan spell expires at the end of the current campaign.

Recent claims indicated that Gattuso’s side would need to fork out €38 million if they are to lure the midfielder away from Stamford Bridge this summer.
