Chelsea report alleged racist abuse to UEFA

Chelsea have confirmed that they have sent a formal complaint to UEFA, stating that winger Callum Hudson-Odoi was the target of alleged racist abuse from Dynamo Kyiv supporters during the Europa League clash in Ukraine last Thursday.

While Chelsea themselves do not name the player in question, Sky Sports News have reported that it is indeed Hudson-Odoi.

The 18-year-old winger was subject to alleged monkey chants from sections of the home crowd shortly before the referee blew for the full-time whistle as Chelsea ran out 5-0 winners.

The incident is said to have taken place in the end that Chelsea were attacking during the second half of the game, with Hudson-Odoi bringing it to the attention of captain Cesar Azpilicueta straight away.

When the game had finished, Hudson-Odoi alerted the match referee of the incident and pointed to where he believes the noises were coming from.

After the game, the England youth international brought the matter to the club, allowing chairman Bruce Buck to alert UEFA officials.

UEFA are now investigating the matter.
