Everton keen on permanent deal for Zouma

Everton are keen on a deal to sign Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma on a permanent deal.

Zouma is currently on a season-long loan at Everton, but the Merseyside club are eager to extend his stay with the club.

According to The Times, Everton have told Zouma that they want to sign him permanently, due to his impressive form at the back this season.

The centre-back scored the opening goal in the 2-0 win over West Ham on Saturday, his second goal for Everton.

It is claimed that the deal could depend on the outcome of Chelsea’s transfer ban. If Chelsea’s appeal fails and they are unable to sign players in the upcoming transfer window, they may decide that they need to keep Zouma at the club.

The 24-year-old defender has made 71 first-team appearances for Chelsea in his career, including 47 in the Premier League, and is a reliable figure at the back.
