Club director holds talks with Chelsea forward

Fenerbahce director Damien Comolli is reported to have made contact with the representatives of Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

An article from Turkish outlet Takvim (translated and relayed by Sport Witness) revealed that Comolli had met with the forward’s agent Michael Manuello, and the Super Lig giants are understood to have presented Giroud with an offer ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 32-year-old’s contract is set to expire in the summer, and if the amount he’s been used by new boss Maurizio Sarri is anything to by, a new deal might not be forthcoming.

With the club seemingly eager to lock down Gonzalo Higuain for next season (be that through a permanent signing or extension of the loan), the World Cup winner may be in need of a new club for his football next season.

It is unclear where Giroud wants to be playing his football, but one thing is for certain – there’s an outfit in Turkey desperate to have him on their side.
