Andersson’s father confirms Chelsea move is close

Edwin Andersson, a promising young Swedish striker, looks set to join Chelsea, according to his father.

Speaking about his son’s future, as reported by local Swedish outlet Expressen, Mikael Andersson claims that the player has chosen to join the Premier League side.

He has even compared his son to Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is dominating the headlines in London at the minute.

He’s pretty much like Callum Hudson-Odoi at Chelsea. When he was younger, he was a little more like Ronaldo. He mainly stays on the left.

He added:

There’s still some details, but the day it’s time he has decided that it’ll be Chelsea.

Andersson is only 15 years of age, but Chelsea are looking to strike a deal early with the player among some of Sweden’s highest-rated youngsters.

He currently plays his football with IFK Gothenburg, but now looks set to link up with Chelsea and slot straight into the academy structure.

Andersson has spent time on trial at Manchester United previously but is now expected to commit his future to Chelsea.

While the player himself is still some way off first-team football in London, he is certainly an exciting name to keep an eye out for in Chelsea’s excellent youth team set-up should a deal go through.
