David Luiz rejects huge contract offers

Chelsea defender David Luiz has reportedly rejected a big-money contract offer from an unnamed club in Qatar.

The London Evening Standard reports that the club in question were prepared to pay Luiz a staggering £220,000 a week in order to convince him into joining.

Luiz, who is believed to earn around £130,000 a week at Stamford Bridge, is out of contract in the summer and remains in talks over a new deal with the Blues.

While the club in Qatar have made a move, Brazilian outfit Palmeiras have also put an offer on the table.

Despite being an offered the chance to return to Brazil, it is claimed that the player still has ambitions to play at the top level in Europe and could still yet renew his deal with the Blues.

He now has a decision to make, with Luiz highly unlikely to earn anywhere near that amount of money at Chelsea due to their contract policy with players over the age of 30.
