Hector claims he’ll wait to make a decision about his Chelsea future

Michael Hector claims he will wait until the end of the season to make a decision on his future, instead choosing to now focus on helping Sheffield Wednesday achieve promotion from the Championship.

The Jamaica international defender, who is currently on a season-long loan at Hillsborough from Chelsea, will enter the final year of his contract with the Blues next season.

Having signed for Chelsea on deadline day in the summer of 2015, Hector is currently in his fourth season-long loan away from the club, having previously played for Reading, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hull City before Wednesday, without having made a competitive appearance for Chelsea.

Despite his future being unclear, the 26-year old centre-back claims he will wait until after the season finishes to consider his options, with Wednesday still hoping to make a late push for a play-off spot.

Speaking to the Sheffield Star, Hector said:

Nothing as yet [on the future]. We are just focusing on a busy period of the season and each game as it comes.

Once the season finishes, we will talk and see where we are.
