Real Madrid linked with summer move for Kepa

Real Madrid are set to make a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer, according to TEAMtalk.

The Spaniard has experienced an up-and-down first season at Stamford Bridge, having become the world’s most expensive ‘keeper last summer.

While Kepa has undoubtedly produced good moments, he has also struggled to justify his record-breaking price tag, and his behaviour in the Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City further damaged his reputation.

Madrid are rumoured to be interested in acquiring the 24-year-old’s services, having seemingly given up on signing David de Gea from Manchester United.

The European champions are willing to spend £50million on Kepa, who cost Chelsea £72million from Athletic Bilbao.

The Blues reportedly have potential replacements lined up already, with English pair Jack Butland and Nick Pope at the top of their wishlist.

It would be a damning indictment of Kepa’s performances for him to be sold so soon, but it looks like a transfer story that could have legs.
