Batshuayi unlikely to complete permanent Palace deal
Crystal Palace are unlikely to complete a permanent deal to sign Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea this summer, according to a report from Goal.
The Belgian forward completed a loan move to Selhurst Park during the January transfer window after failing to convince during a half-season stint at Valencia before the turn of the year.
Batshuayi has since been in solid form for the Eagles, finding the back of the net on three occasions from his 11 appearances so far this term.
Palace may be tempted into pursuing the ex-Marseille attacker in the summer, but Goal reports that they did not include an option to buy clause in their deal for the player when they wrapped up a January deal.
Roy Hodgson’s side are also stated to be unlikely to cough up anywhere near what Chelsea would demand to part ways with Batshuayi at the end of the season.
Nevertheless, the 25-year-old’s future at Stamford Bridge is hardly secure, with Maurizio Sarri understood to be prioritising securing Gonzalo Higuain and Olivier Giroud’s positions at the club.
