Chelsea may have been handed a boost ahead of this Sunday’s trip to face Liverpool at Anfield as defender Joel Matip and forward Sadio Mane missed training on Thursday.
No official reasoning has been given for the pair missing the session yet, so there is no guarantee that they’ll miss the game, but one would suspect that the fact they didn’t train proves that neither are 100% fit.

Mane was taken off midway through the second half of Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Porto on Tuesday whilst defender Matip missed the game completely, although Jurgen Klopp said he was just resting the centre-back.
If, for any reason, Matip and/or Mane aren’t available for the game than Croatian star Dejan Lovren and Belgian forward Divock Origi would seem to be the most likely replacements.
However, it must be stated, neither player has been ruled out at this stage so Chelsea will plan to face the duo until told otherwise.
