Andreas Christensen addresses Chelsea future

Andreas Christensen has confirmed he wants to stay at Chelsea beyond this season, despite starting just four Premier League games under Maurizio Sarri.

The 23-year-old grew into an important figure in the defence for Antonio Conte but has seen a minimal amount of game time this term under new management.

This unsurprisingly led to transfer speculation, but Christensen has recently reiterated his desire to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge ahead of an impending transfer ban.

I haven’t had a conversation with the club but I want to stay here. I’ve said I’d like to stay, but they haven’t said I’m definitely staying. I’ve said what I want to happen and that was definitely staying.

The Blue have an ageing defence so letting the Denmark international go would be very debatable. It seems he’s fully intent on staying though, so fans shouldn’t be too worried.
