Chelsea may not even be able to sign players this summer, but that hasn’t stopped the rumour-mill from revealing which global stars the Blues are interested in adding to their ranks.
One such player is Bruno Guimaraes of Brazilian outfit Athletico Paranaense. The 21-year-old has caught the eyes of multiple European clubs, but it seems to be Chelsea who are representing the most serious approach to lure the player away from his current team.
Speaking to television show Bate Bola (translated by Sport Witness) however, the defensive midfielder himself insisted he was happy where he was:
Look, I am very happy. Proposals and surveys have been taking place. But I leave everything with my agents, I do not even like to know,
I’m very focused here on Athletico, I want to be an idol here. I have a great affection for the fans, the fans also have a great affection for me.
For my goals now I see next to make history here at Athletico. Make history at the national team, I am Olympic age. I’m thinking about it. I leave Europe with my agents.
Chelsea were reported to have sent scouts to watch the Rio de Janeiro-native take on Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores, and will be hoping there proposed transfer ban is lifted, allowing them to make a move for the midfield maestro.
