Chelsea target Jovic set for Real Madrid move
Chelsea are set to be handed another transfer blow, with summer target Luka Jovic set to choose Real Madrid over a move to Stamford Bridge, according to Alfredo Pedulla, cited by the Daily Star.
The 21-year-old has been in fine form for German outfit Frankfurt this season, finding the back of the net on 25 occasions, which has attracted plenty of interest across Europe.
The youngster is thought to be a target of Chelsea’s for the summer, despite the Blues receiving a two-window transfer ban in recent months.
Chelsea officials have appealed the decision, with a decision expected in the coming weeks.
However, even if Chelsea are allowed to register players in the summer, it appears as if target Jovic won’t be one of them, with the Serbian international set to join Real Madrid, who are expected to shake up their squad this summer.
Blues fans will see Jovic and Frankfurt first hand in the coming weeks however, after the Bundesliga side defeated Benfica in the last eight of the Europa League, setting up a semi-final clash against Maurizio Sarri’s side.
