Hudson-Odoi “will not be rushed” into signing new deal

Callum Hudson-Odoi has no intention of rushing to sign a new deal at Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail.

The 18-year-old suffered a season-ending injury in the 2-2 draw at home to Burnley on Monday night, after rupturing his Achilles in the first half.

It is likely to keep him out of action for around six months, but that won’t make him jump at the chance to extend his Stamford Bridge stay, should others lose interest.

Hudson-Odoi was strongly linked with a move to Bayern Munich back in January, and has rejected a new deal at Chelsea up until this point.

The Blues are thought to be willing to offer him £100,000 a week, and they are “increasingly confident” about retaining his services.

The injury is a cruel blow for Hudson-Odoi, who had finally broken into the Chelsea team regularly and was playing well.

Whether or not someone will make a bid for him despite his lengthy absence remains to be seen, but it is clear that he won’t be bowing down to his current club.

matchday.
