Real Madrid eye N’Golo Kante as a replacement for Paul Pogba

N’Golo Kante has been identified as a target for Real Madrid this summer should they fail in their pursuit of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Los Blancos have already been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea winger Eden Hazard, with the Belgian looking set to move to Real at the end of the season.

And according to the Daily Express, Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is now said to be eyeing a move for Kante if a deal for fellow Frenchman Pogba doesn’t materialise.

Zidane is said to be planning to overhaul his squad this summer in an attempt to mount a stronger challenge for both the La Liga title and the Champions League next season, with Los Blancos currently third in the Spanish top flight, some 18 points behind champions Barcelona.

Real also suffered a shock defeat to Ajax in the last 16 of the Champions League, suffering a 4-1 defeat at the Bernabeu.
