Burnley considering move for Gary Cahill

Burnley are said to be leading a host of Premier League sides in the pursuit of out of favour Chelsea defender Gary Cahill.

The 33-year-old is seen as a potential replacement for James Tarkowski who has been linked with a move away from Turf Moor this summer, with Sean Dyche looking to add further experience to his squad.

Cahill made his first Premier League appearance of the season on Sunday, replacing Cesar Azpilicueta in the latter stages of Blues’ 3-0 win over Watford to bid farewell to the Chelsea faithful.

And according to the Daily Mail, the 33-year-old is a target for Burnley this summer, though the defender may be forced into taking a pay cut should he pursue a move to Turf Moor.

Cahill, who is out of contract this summer, has won the Premier League, Champions League, Europe League, FA Cup and League Cup with Chelsea following his move from Bolton in 2012.
