Roma to make Sarri offer after Conte rejection

Maurizio Sarri is to be offered a route of Chelsea this summer by Italian outfit Roma.

According to the Telegraph, former Blues boss Antonio Conte has turned down the Giallorossi as they seek a permanent replacement for Eusebio Di Francesco.

Conte had been heavily linked with the role but he now looks set to hold out for bigger and better offers, with Inter and Juventus said to be among his options.

Sarri has divided opinions between Chelsea supporters during his first season in charge of the club, with his much hailed ‘Sarri-ball’ taking time to come to fruition at Stamford Bridge.

However, Sarri has guided Chelsea back into the top four, taken the club to a League Cup final and has the chance to win a European trophy at the end of his first campaign in charge.

The 60-year-old failed to endear himself further to supporters against Watford by sitting out of the end-of-season ‘lap of appreciation’ at Stamford Bridge, raising further questions about his future.
