Frankfurt confirm return of Haller ahead of second leg clash

The squad in which Eintracht Frankfurt will be taking to Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening looks set to include French forward Sebastien Haller.

This could be a vital boost for the Bundesliga side, as they were without the striker in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final clash.

Although Die Adler had target-man Luka Jovic score the first goal of the game in a 1-1 draw at the Commerzbank Arena, the addition of Haller will bolster the squad in a must-win game if the German side are to progress to the final.

Haller has found the back of the net 19 times this season, five of the goals coming in the Europa League. Striking partner Jovic has nine in the same competition, only Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud has more with 10.

Chelsea are looking for a comfortable win at home, with Maurizio Sarri chasing the trophy. Should they make it to the final at the Baku Olympic Stadium in Azerbaijan, they will face either La Liga’s Valencia, or London rivals Arsenal.

However, with Frankfurt’s strike force back to 100%, any sight of an away goal could shatter Chelsea’s hopes of bringing the trophy back to Stamford Bridge.
