Reece James training with first-team ahead of Europa League clash

19-year-old Reece James has been seen training with Chelsea’s first team ahead of their Europa League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The full-back has had a good season on loan with Wigan despite failing to reach a playoff position.

He has featured in 45 league appearances, even scoring and assisting three times.

Chelsea are to take on Frankfurt in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final clash. They have a job to do at Stamford Bridge after failing to leave Germany with a win, drawing 1-1 at the Commerzbank Arena.

But it seems as though Sarri is looking to give the youngster James a shot; he may come on as a substitute or he may be preparing him for next season after the club was hit with a two-season transfer ban.

This ban will see a handful of players remain at the club with many returning from loan, including Tammy Abraham, who has had a successful season on loan to Aston Villa scoring 25 goals in the Championship.

Mason Mount is another name who is set to return to Stamford Bridge, after a graceful loan period at Derby County. The 20-year-old has scored 10 goals in all competitions from attacking midfield while also picking up six assists.
