Five times Chelsea have conquered German opposition

Chelsea were unable to seal the deal in their first leg clash against Eintracht Frankfurt after the game finished at 1-1.

Luka Jovic put the Bundesliga side up 1-0 in the 23rd minute, before Pedro managed to equalise on the stroke of half time.

Maurizio Sarri and his men now have a job to do at Stamford Bridge should they wish to proceed to the final, where they will face either Valencia or Arsenal.

Despite securing a Champions League spot for next season on Sunday, where the Blues brushed aside Watford in a 3-0 victory, Sarri’s future at the club is still up in the air after it has been reported that several Serie A clubs are interested in the Italian.

The 60-year-old will be looking to take home the trophy in order to fulfil his wish of staying in West London but they will have to get past Frankfurt to set up a meeting with either Arsenal or Valencia.

This may be harder than Sarri first thought, as although they do have the home advantage, Frankfurt have confirmed the return of star man Sebastien Haller, while N’Golo Kante is to be rested for a few weeks following a hamstring injury picked up at the weekend.

Chelsea have faced many German teams in the past, and we have collected the best five fixtures that saw Chelsea reach glory.
