David Luiz has confirmed that the result of his Chelsea contract negotiations will be announced in five days, football.london report.
The 32-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of the season, however, the Brazilian has recently been locked in ongoing talks with Chelsea officials.
The ongoing negotiations haven’t effected Luiz’s performances on the pitch, with the defender putting in some consistent displays over recent weeks.
Luiz played a key role in Chelsea’s Europa League semi-final success over Frankfurt, with the experienced defender clearing Sébastien Haller’s goal-bound effort off the line in extra time before coolly converting his spot-kick in the shootout.
And talking after Chelsea’s penalty shootout success, Luiz revealed that an announcement will be made regarding his future in the coming days.
