Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is reportedly attempting to convince Blues left-back Emerson to remain at Stamford Bridge next season.
The 25-year-old, who joined the club from AS Roma last January, has featured in 26 matches under Sarri this season and has attracted interest from Inter Milan in recent weeks.
According to the Italian media, cited by Sport Witness, Emerson’s agency have met with Inter representatives in recent weeks over a possible move.
However, the same report goes on to state that Blues manager Sarri is ‘pressing to convince’ the left-back to remain in London, seeing the defender as a valuable member of the squad.
Another reason why Sarri is desperate to keep hold of the Italy international is due to the club’s pending transfer ban.
FIFA recently rejected Chelsea’s appeal over a two-window ban, with the Blues facing up to the prospect of using some of their loanees in the first-team squad next season.
