Abramovich ready to sanction deal for Coutinho

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to sanction a swoop to sign Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

According to Cadena Ser, via The Daily Star, Abramovich is prepared to move for Coutinho as they look to replace Eden Hazard.

The report claims that Real Madrid are expected to come in with a £100m offer for Hazard, with Coutinho being eyed as the man to come in and fill his shoes.

Coutinho has been heavily linked with Chelsea for a number of months, after reportedly struggling to settle in at Barcelona.

The Brazil international joined Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018 and has scored five times in 33 La Liga appearances so far this season.

There is a potential issue, however, and that is the transfer ban currently imposed upon the club.

Chelsea are taking their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport as they look to get this upcoming summer transfer window before their two-window ban.
