Sarri still fears Chelsea sack despite top-four finish

Maurizio Sarri has enjoyed a rollercoaster season in his first year in charge of Chelsea but it ended with the Blues securing a Champions League place, with a major European final to come.

Despite this success, according to Il Tempo, as cited on Calcio Mercato, the Italian believes that his job at Stamford Bridge is still in doubt as he receives continued interest from Serie A giants Roma.

The Giallorossi have confirmed that current interim manager Claudio Ranieri will not be offered the full-time job despite being only one point off the top four with just two games to go.

It is no surprise Roma are after the tactician as his experience of managing in Serie A bringing a certain level of appeal, despite his struggles in London.

However, Sarri will be looking to put the rumours to one side as his side prepare to fly to America ahead of a friendly with New England Revolution before facing Arsenal in the UEFA Europa League final.
