Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has added to the speculation linking the midfielder with a summer move to Juventus by suggesting “the door remains open” despite his history playing for Napoli.
The Italian has endured a difficult debut season at Chelsea following his move from the Partenopei, and the 27-year-old has recently been linked with a move to Serie A champions Juve.
And according to the Evening Standard, via Italian station Radio Marte, Santos has not ruled a move to the Old Lady out this summer, but insists Jorginho is fully focused on Chelsea’s Europa League final clash against Arsenal.
Juve? I don’t know. Chelsea are focused on the Europa league final at the moment.
Jorginho had a terrific season, he played in 50 games and was very good. Even if Jorginho does have Napoli ties, he can’t say that he won’t play for a certain team because of this. He is a professional so it’s normal that the door remains open for Juve.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has also been rumoured to be a target for the Old Lady, who are in search of a new manager after Massimiliano Allegri announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the season.
Four potential replacements for Jorginho
Bakayoko has had a relatively decent season on loan at AC Milan from the Blues, and Sarri could see the Frenchman as a potential replacement for Jorginho.
Though the Blues’ impeding two-window transfer ban could prevent a move for the highly rated Barella, the 21-year-old is said to be a target for Sarri.
Kovacic has shown his versatility by playing in Jorginho’s role in the midfield this season, and Chelsea are allowed to sign the Croatian this summer.
Though Mount would not be a direct like-for-like replacement, he has showcased his ability on the ball and eye for a pass on loan with Derby County this season.
