Chelsea fans caught up in travel problems en route to Baku

Chelsea fans are encountering some unfortunate travel problems ahead of the Europa League final on Wednesday night.

A Chelsea fan on Twitter has claimed that the charter flight they are due to travel on has been stuck on the tarmac at Luton airport, with delays ahead of their trip to Azerbaijan

A flight from London to Baku takes roughly nine hours, meaning that they could be in danger of missing the game if the delays drag on too long.

Chelsea are set to face Arsenal in the final of the Europa Leauge in Baku, Azerbaijan, tonight – despite the outrage at the decision to host it there.

Both clubs were only allocated 6,000 tickets each, despite the stadium in Baku being able to hold 69,000 people.

Also, Arsenal have been forced to leave their midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan at home, their most involved player in the competition this season, due to concerns over his safety regarding tension between his country and Azerbaijan.
