Hudson-Odoi set to sign five-year Chelsea deal

Callum Hudson-Odoi will pen a new five-year deal at Chelsea, according to the Evening Standard.

There has been speculation surrounding the teenager’s future for months now, with Bayern Munich failing to sign him in January.

The Bundesliga giants were tipped to come back in for him this summer and Hudson-Odoi reportedly saw his future away from Stamford Bridge.

In a surprise turn of events, however, the highly-rated winger looks set to extend his stay in west London.

There has reportedly been a “major breakthrough in negotiations”, in what represents a huge boost for Chelsea.

With Eden Hazard almost certain to leave for Real Madrid, and a transfer ban currently inflicted on the Blues, retaining Hudson-Odoi’s services is huge.

He may even inherit the Belgian’s No.10 jersey, becoming the club’s new attacking talisman in the process.

The 18-year-old is currently out injured after rupturing his Achilles tendon against Burnley in April.

While nothing has officially been signed yet, it does look as though Hudson-Odoi will be a Chelsea player next season and beyond.

matchday.
