It looks like the 2019/20 Premier League opening day fixtures may have been leaked this morning, as per a report from the Mirror.
Five-time Premier League champions Chelsea could be kicking off their season with a trip to St Mary’s as they will reportedly be facing Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton side.
At this stage, these fixtures are unverified and could well change when an official announcement is made.
The potential meeting with Southampton will be the Blues’ first Premier League game without star man Eden Hazard after he joined Spanish giants Real Madrid for a reported fee of £130 million.
Hazard was indispensable to Blues during his seven years at the Bridge, leading them to two Premier League titles as well as two Europa League trophies among many.
The Blues may also have a new manager on the sidelines at St Mary’s as well after it was reported by Sky Sports last week that Chelsea will give Maurizio Sarri the green light to leave for Italian champions Juventus this summer.
Even with all the criticism that Sarri received from the English media last season, the Italian head coach still managed to deliver a trophy for the Blues in his first season in charge at the club.
