Chelsea left-back Emerson says that he is unsure as to whether or not Maurizio Sarri will be joining Juventus this summer.
Sarri has been heavily linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus, which would leave Chelsea managerless and in the midst of a two-window transfer ban imposed upon them by FIFA.
Emerson joined Chelsea from Roma in January 2018 but has only made 15 Premier League appearances for the club to date. He did, however, play 11 times in the Europa League as he won the first major trophy of his senior career.
As quoted by The Mirror, Emerson said this about Sarri:
I don’t know if Sarri will join Juve.
I should ask it to Juventus or Chelsea. We won the Europa League and I am serene.
He also commented on his own future.
I didn’t receive any call, I am happy here. There is nothing to say, I am focused on Chelsea
Emerson will now be preparing to battle with Marcos Alonso in pre-season to nail down his spot at left-back ahead of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign.
Players who could leave Chelsea this summer
It almost seems certain that Drinkwater will leave Chelsea this summer. Aside from the Community Shield, he did not make a single appearance for the club this season.
The Italian right-back could look to leave Chelsea in search of more regular game time.
The Belgian forward needs regular minutes at this time in his career and that looks unlikely at Chelsea. He could have to seek a new club.
Abraham enjoyed a fantastic season on loan to Aston Villa and will surely be attracting interest from elsewhere.
