Callum Hudson-Odoi has spoken out about his future at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea, according to reports in the Mirror.
Hudson-Odoi has been at Chelsea his entire career, since he was a part of the youth team, and has just recently made it into the first team under Maurizio Sarri. However, he has not made many appearances for Chelsea this season, definitely not as many as he had hoped.
The young winger was denied the chance to go to Bayern Munich during the January transfer window, with Chelsea wanting to keep him.
He has now reportedly informed the club about the number of games he wants to play after only appearing 10 times since January, and according to reports, he is not wanting to sign a new contract until he is given assurances about the role he will play at Stamford Bridge next season.
He is only 19 and has a lot of time to improve, so whoever will be the manager at Chelsea next season will want to keep him there as long as possible.
Why Chelsea should play Hudson-Odoi more
The 19-year-old has made his debut for the England first team, proving his potential to be a big asset to Chelsea in the long run.
Hudson-Odoi is still only young and if he’s playing more and more now he’ll be perfect for Chelsea as he grows into a better, more experienced player.
Being played often at Chelsea will provide young Hudson-Odoi with the exposure he needs to become a top footballer.
Break the academy trend
Chelsea have struggled to bring through their academy players into the first-team squad and Callum Hudson-Odoi can finally break that trend.
