Aston Villa are eyeing up a swoop for Chelsea midfielder Ethan Ampadu this summer.
According to The Guardian, Villa are showing an interest in signing Ampadu on loan ahead of next season.
The report claims that Villa will make their move for the midfielder should Chelsea decide that they want to send him out on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.
Ampadu played five games in all competitions last season for Chelsea, despite playing six games for Wales in that time.
The 18-year-old can play as a holding midfielder or as a centre-back, but was sparsely used by manager Maurizio Sarri – who has now left the club to join Italian giants Juventus.
Frank Lampard is said to be possibly taking over at Chelsea and the former England midfielder could yet decide that he wants to have Ampadu in his squad next season if he does end up in the hot seat at Stamford Bridge.
Players who could leave Chelsea this summer
The English midfielder played once all season, despite being fit for the entire campaign.
After scoring five Premier League goals for Palace in the second half of the season, Batshuayi could look for another move away from the club.
The Danish defender could look for more regular game time elsewhere, with David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger the preferred centre-back partnership last season.
If Alonso loses his place to Emerson he could decide to leave the club, potentially going back to Spain.
