Miazga holding off decision on his future until a new boss is in place

After Maurizio Sarri’s departure was confirmed over the weekend, the future of several Chelsea loanees is now up for debate.

The club are known for their extensive use of the loan system after sending out over 40 players to other clubs last season.

With a new manager soon to be in place, the club’s youngsters could be given another chance to make a lasting impression and Matt Miazga reckons his time could come, as cited by local Reading reporter Jonathan Low.

I’ve been in touch with my agent and Chelsea. We’re due to speak with Chelsea very soon and see what’s next. Obviously there’s news now that Sarri is leaving, so you never know what can happen with the coaches, if they want to take a look at you.

Miazga has shown his desire to play in the Premier League and believes he deserves a chance to show what he can do under a new manager in the top flight.

The American defender was on loan at Championship side Reading towards the end of last season, making 18 appearances in the league. The 23-year-old has a lot to prove in the coming months if he wants to break through at Chelsea.

matchday.
