Jorginho’s agent provides update on Juventus links
Jorginho’s agent has spoken out after the defensive midfielder was linked with a move to Juventus this week.
The 27-year-old is rumoured to be a target for the Serie A champions, who have appointed Maurizio Sarri as manager ahead of next season.
Jorginho and Sarri’s relationship is well known, having worked together at Napoli and Chelsea in recent years.
Therefore, rumours of a switch to Turin for the Italian were inevitable, and the player’s agent, Joao Santos, has moved quickly to discuss the situation.
A report on Sports Mole cites a story in The Mirror, which quotes Santos as saying:
Chelsea have a four-year contract with the lad. We’ll wait a few days to figure out whether there is any truth in this interest. His past at Napoli won’t be an issue, because Jorginho is a professional.
Right now, Jorginho is happy at Chelsea. He found a great atmosphere and we can’t really say that he’d like to go elsewhere, but anything can happen on the transfer market. We’ll wait and see.
The quotes seem to suggest that a move is unlikely for Jorginho as things stand, however, they don’t definitively rule out the possibility of a deal happening.
Jorginho featured 54 times in his debut season with the London club, with 11 of those appearances coming in the Europa League as Chelsea won the competition.
The report hints that Chelsea would be unwilling to let Jorginho leave due to their transfer ban, which would prevent them from signing a replacement.
