Callum Hudson-Odoi targeting September comeback

Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi is hoping to be back in action by September, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

The 18-year-old suffered a ruptured Achilles injury during the Premier League meeting with Burnley on April 22, which finished 2-2.

It looked as though Hudson-Odoi would be ruled out for six months as a consequence of the damage. However, it seems he is ahead of schedule and could return a month earlier than anticipated.

The youngster’s performances saw him handed his England debut in March, and he will hope to come back into contention when he returns.

Hudson-Odoi looks set to stay at Stamford Bridge despite recent speculation and depending on his fitness, he could be back to play a part in the September fixtures against Wolves, Liverpool and Brighton.

The winger is set to visit Barcelona, where his progress will be checked upon, and it is hoped he will be given the all clear to step up his rehab programme.
