Lampard’s Stamford Bridge homecoming selected for TV coverage

Frank Lampard will have to wait a little longer for his first game back at Stamford Bridge as the new Chelsea boss.

It has been confirmed this morning, as reported by Oliver Hardbord, that the home fixture against Leicester has been moved to Sunday and will be selected for TV coverage.

The game will now kick off at 4:30pm on Sunday afternoon as part of Sky Sports’ Super Sunday coverage.

Leicester’s visit to Stamford Bridge will, in fact, be Lampard’s third competitive game in charge of the Blues, but his first in front of the home supporters.

Chelsea start the season away to Manchester United before facing Liverpool in the Super Cup just days before the game against Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The game at Stamford Bridge will no doubt be an emotional affair, with the home support planning to welcome back Jody Morris and Lampard himself.
