Chelsea are bracing themselves for a fresh offer from Bayern Munich for winger Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer after managing to keep him in the January transfer window.
The 18-year-old starlet was eager to leave Stamford Bridge at the start of the year, but Bayern failed in their £35million pursuit and now Frank Lampard has replaced Maurizio Sarri, their chances may be even slimmer.
However, the Daily Mail claims the Bundesliga champions are preparing a new, improved £45million bid for Hudson-Odoi this summer after sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic reaffirmed the club’s interest last week.
Bayern want him to be the centrepiece of their attacking rebuild following the departures of both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery – two club legends.
It’s unlikely Hudson-Odoi will be as eager to leave now as he was six months ago after Lampard’s arrival and Eden Hazard’s departure potentially paving the way for more game time.
It’ll be interesting to see how Chelsea react if Bayern offer almost £50million for a player with only 10 Premier League appearances to his name.
