Real Sociedad legend Alberto Lopez has urged winger Mikel Oyarzabal to consider a move to either Chelsea or Liverpool.
The 22-year-old caught the eye with some outstanding performances at the Under 21 European Championships with Spain this summer and has been linked with a Real Sociedad departure as a result.
Oyarzabal has also impressed with Sociedad in recent years, scoring on 25 occasions over the past two La Liga campaigns which has earned the player two senior Spain caps.
And talking to Marca, cited by Caught Offside, Lopez, who made over 400 appearances for Sociedad, believes that Oyarzabal’s days with the La Liga side are numbered and revealed the youngster would be a perfect fit in Chelsea’s side.
I really rate him. I don’t think he has a lot of time left at Real Sociedad.
He has so much talent and I think he could play in a great team like Chelsea and Liverpool.
The Blues wouldn’t be able to launch an official move for the versatile winger until next summer due to their two-window transfer ban, so Chelsea, if they are keen on the player, will be hoping Oyarzabal stays put in Spain over the next 12 months.
