Blues Midfielder Mason Mount Believes Things ‘Starting To Come Together’

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has spoken to the club’s official website and has expressed his belief in the current Blues squad.

Mount has continued to have an influence in Frank Lampard’s squad among a host of big-money summer signings, whom the 21-year-old believes are beginning to settle together, saying: ‘‘It feels like it’s starting to come together for us.’’

The England man has made 43 Premier League appearances for the Blues since completing a successful loan spell under Lampard at Derby County.

Mount spoke about the current squad following Saturday’s victory at Burnley, saying: ‘‘It was always going to take some time for us to all click as a team, but it felt like we were moving with each other, we knew where each other was going to go, and it kind of clicked.”

After enjoying prolonged periods in the starting XI last term, Mount may have feared for his place this season, but he has stressed a sense of unity within the squad.

He said: ‘’There’s a lot of competition in the squad to try and get in the team, but we are all working hard, we are all a group, all a family, so all we want to do is win as many games as we can and try to keep pushing to be number one. That’s our goal.’’

It’s a credit to Mount’s improvement that the attacking midfielder has managed to remain an integral part of the Blues plans following the signings made in attacking positions especially.

Away from the attackers beginning to combine nicely, the much-maligned Chelsea defence seems to be finding its feet as three of the regular back four were named in the Premier League team of the month for October.
